Daily routines can become so commonplace that we forget to say thank you to our partners. Washing dishes, doing laundry, and watering the lawn often go unrecognized. This is where we have to realize that thanking our partners for daily routines is so important.
"Thank you for doing the dishes."
"Thank you for organizing the clutter in the living room."
Another type of thankfulness we should acknowledge are the things that contribute to our mental and physical health. These are things that our partners do in order to take care of themselves.
"Thank you for keeping active."
"Thank you for going to the doctor to take care of that medical issue."
"Thank you for meeting up with your friends for guy time or girl time."
"Thank you for meeting with a counselor to deal with these difficult issues."
Telling each other thank you for the things they do for us and for their well-being can go a long way. One thank you might seem like not all that much, but over time, lots of little thank you's for lots of little things, adds up to big things in one's marriage.
